2007-08-27 For the 6th time we’ll organize the Christmascards-project. From 40 cards in the first year we have grown to 2800 cards last year. Pupils love this small, easy-to-do-project. The intention is that pupils create their own X-mascards and send them to other pupils in partnerschools.Way of working : - the pupils ( age 8 – 16 ) make X-mascards themselves by drawing, painting, cutting paper etc. It should be an own creation. On the back they write their name and a short X-masgreeting in their own langue, plus in English, French or German. If they want they can write some words about themselves. - after finishing, the cards are collected by the teacher and sent to Porta Mosana College. Here the cards will be redistributed over the several partnerschools and sent. Like this, there is no need for exact the same number of cards from every partner. Schools get in return the same amount of cards as they have sent. For exemple : a school from Poland sends 40 cards to Maastricht. They will get 40 cards in return, for example 10 from Belgium, 10 from Holland, 10 from Finland, 5 from Sweden, 5 from France. - NB : we would appreciate if there would be a small work per class or group (e.g. one form A4) about Christmastraditions in your own country. - Deadline : the cards should be in Maastricht not later than November 30, so we can arrange the distribution and sending to all schools in order to be sure that they arrive everywhere in time. One group for pupils from 4 – 11 years old, and the other group for pupils from 12 – 18 years old. So, please do not forget to mention the age of the pupils group.
