Successful practice in the Polish-German border region

Partnership between vocational colleges in Brandenburg and Poland The current globalisation of society and the world of work is advancing at a rapid pace and also influencing vocational training to an increasing extent. Within and between different countries, the professional and personal mobility of individual people is increasingly in demand. Particularly against the background of different education systems and learning, working and living conditions in the individual EU States, it is vital that we promote intercultural skills in school pupils and vocational students and further improve the recognition of professional qualifications. For the vocational colleges of Brandenburg, the close proximity of the Polish border and the accession of Poland to the EU have a special part to play in this process. Over the last few years, the Sixth Form Colleges of Brandenburg have significantly expanded their links with Poland. More than half the 29 Sixth Form Colleges have entered into a permanent partnership with vocational training establishments in Poland. http://www.bildung-brandenburg.de/262.html
